COMPACT STEREO vs. "BIG BOYS" TYPE OF EQUIPMENT

Okay I really don't get what the BIG deal is with fancy audio equipments that cost hundreds of dollars and take so much space when their sound is not far from compact radios or bookshelf speakers anyways! I have an RCA 2044, and some songs being played with this system(particularly music with high-pitched singers) sound better than when being played with a Yamaha v490(hooked to Boston Acoustics speakers and Yamaha subwoofer)! But I'm not going to lie, when playing certain songs(by deeper/or whispery colder voice like Matt Nathanson) the Yamaha system sounds better than RCA! Now I don't know which one to keep! But all I'm saying is for something that cost ALOT more *ahem* yamaha, the sound should be impeccable no matter what kind of music is being played!

Some people are content with drinking wine out of a box! :p

Don't blame it all on the Yamaha receiver. It's just an amplifier and processor. The real culprit is generally the speaker system.

what do you mean Avrat? ^ Aren't Boston Acoustics CR6 and Yamaha subwoofer high quality brands??

do you suggest I replace those speakers with my RCA ones then?? lol. if that were the case I should just keep my entire RCA and get rid of my expensive yamahas and Boston Acoustics then

if the sound keeps popping and crinkling, that do you think is the problem... because that's how my system sounds sometimes. it's not pleasing to the ears
