Howdy, looking between either the Energy RC-30 or PSB T45/55. The speakers will be ran off of a Rotel RA-1062. I won't be adding a sub so low end is pretty important. I mostly listen to rock/techno and movies and games.

Thanks for the opinions,
Troy

You'll have to audition them to see what you like best. They are all very close within specs but how they sound will ultimately rest with you. I have the PSB T45s and love them. Very solid, very neutral speaker throwing out a big soundstage with very good imaging.

Whats up with Audio Advisor's sketchy shipping rates?

RC-30 cost more to ship than RC-70? Shipping costs vary on the RC-30 depending on the color choice...cheaper colors cost more to ship...

Maybe, the different colour ones come from a distributor further away and add to the cost. I'm just guessing here.

Buy the RC-70s then! You'll save on shipping! haha

Kidding aside, I own them (70). I couldn't be happier. They are marvelous for movies (especially the center channel (RC-LCR). and even better for music as I listen to metal/rock music. If you're into that kind of music, it's a no brainer. Click on my signature to get some pics.

The RC 30's (black & cherry ) are about 40% below list. The rosenut are 30% so my guess is that is how they make up the difference;). Having auditoned both MFG's the Energy Rc's have a more laid back sound which I preferred. IMO both are excellent do try and audition them if you can?

These two traits are probably better on the PSB Image than the RC. On the other hand, RC might be more neutral. IMO, both speakers are very good, and similar. I wouldn't make a decision without auditioning both first.

Can't add a sub to my int amp.
You can always add a sub using high-level inputs. Just run the speaker wire through the sub and use its crossover. I agree, a modern system without a sub is missing something for any video-watching.

I did that once with my velodyne. It screwed up the imaging big time. Sound quality went to the grave.
