Just wanted some thoughts on whether RBH can compare with BW or Paradigm.

Actually in many cases RBH outperforms the brands you mentioned when comparing similar price points. Check out our reviews and you will see that we do believe in their product performance and value.

B&W and Paradigm also make excellent products so ultimately it comes down to what you prefer, and what is accessable to you.

Thanks, Gene! I actually read your reviews on RBH and was quite impressed. If Im correct, RBH sells direct which is nice. The BW model I was thinking of was the 705 series and S4 respectively. Not sure yet what RBH model is comparable. Any feedback on that would be appreciated.

Rex;

RBH doesn't sell direct unfortunately :(

You should look at their Signature line if you can find a local dealer.

I also recommend RBH, the B&W and Paradigm very nice, and it depends upon what and how you like to hear but, you really need to listen to the RBH speakers, they are fantastic.
It is well worth the effort to find a dealer and audition them. If you can't find one give RBH a call @ 1-800-543-2205 and they will help you out,.... customer satisfaction and RBH go hand in hand.
As a side note, the SE's are really, really, did I say how nice the SE's are, especially with one of the custom finishes but, the MC series,.... well IMHO I cannot hear a difference, so I think they are an incredible value, But thats just me ;-)

Wow, what a choice of finishes RBH has to offer. Would you recommend buying a sub from RBH or would a velodyne be something to consider?

While it is true, you can call their 800#, it is a glaring ommission in their web site NOT to list authorized dealers. It seems that the dealers should insist on that correction. After all, virtually every other competing company lists their dealers! While I haven't seen any RBH dealers in central Florida as I visited other dealers and auditioned Paradigm, B&W and others...if I knew where to look they would have made the short list. Additionally, as part of my job, I travel all over the nation (Ironically, scheduled for Salt Lake City in August).

As a side rant, if firms list their dealers, I wish the would note actual retail businesses, vs the botique 'we'll come to your home and custom design' what you need - and happen to carry that speaker brand that becomes the "perfect" speaker. Additionally, I found one KEF dealer that was actually a Mailbox Etc address. Basically, it was a home based business that sold KEF speakers to it's clients.

Exactly my rant as well! I havent as of yet audited the RBH's(hopefully soon). There are a few dealers in my area for RBh. I did, however, go and listen to the B&W and Paradigm's together.

First, B&W 703's tower speakers. My first impression was how clear they sounded. With only 2 bass drivers, I didnt get over powered by it. The soundstage to me seemed very complete as I was listening in a mock living room about 15 x 20. I didnt get a chance to listen to a variety of music or a movie. Initially, though, I liked what I heard. Sorry for the lack of technical info as Im am just learning.

Second, the Paradigm Studio 100 with 3 bass drivers. To me is wasnt a good comparison for the additon of 1 extra driver as opposed to 2 in the B&W's. The salesman kept telling me they sound bigger than they really are. Well, for one, they are a large speaker IMHO. One thing that bugged me about them was the overpowering of the bass. It seems that is the only thing that stuck in my head. I dont recall hearing alot midrange or tweeter clarity( I could be mistaken of course).

In short, Without having spent more time with either speaker, I would have to say I prefer the B&W 703.
