RBH Sound TK-5C vs. AV123 x-mtm

hi all, I'm pretty new around here and I've been trying to get some advice on how to start a nice audio setup at home. I'd like to start with just 2 loudspeakers, then add a sub, and maybe more in the future.

I'd like to spend up to $500 for the loudspeakers and looking at the various threads and reviews the RBH TK-5C and the AV123 x-mtm have appealed to me. I was considering the x-ls too, but from the Bookshelf Speaker Faceoff I got the impression that the TK-5C is noticeably a step above (I know, it costs about double too.)

So my question to you is the following: how does the sound compare between the TK-5C and the x-mtm? I prefer the bookshelf size, but if there's a significant difference in sound I might get convinced to go with floorstanding, considering that the cost is comparable. The room I'll put them in is not small (somewhere in the 14x17ft range) but I also have neighbors =)

Right now I can get the TK-5C for $325 + $30 shipping from audiophileliquidator.net and the x-mtm for $339 + $92.00 shipping.

I haven't spent much time thinking about what will power them, maybe an Onkyo TX-SR605, but that can be the topic of a separate thread ;) Typical usage will be 80% music, 20% movies / console games.

One thing to keep in mind,... if you buy from Audiophile Liquidators; RBH WILL NOT honor the warranty. They are NOT an authorized dealer. I do recommend the RBH speakers with no reservations,.... I have not heard the x-mtm from AV123.
