RBH MC-6 vs RBH 61-SE

I am going to go and audition some RBH speakers in the near future (finally figured out where to listen to them)

after reading reviews on audioholics I noticed that the MC-6 and 61-SE bookshelf speakers are comparably priced and both received very similar final scores (both got Performance scores of 4.5)


Before I go to listen to them (hopefully both of them) i was hoping someone could point out any differences i should be aware of. (is one better for large rooms? is one better as front speaker than the other? does one require far more power to sound half good? there must be a difference...)

it seems strange to me that RBH would produce two bookshelf speakers, in different lines, at very similar prices (61-SE $999 MC-6 $849)

Seeing as the 61-SE comes from their highest quality line of speakers - the Signature Series - i would have thought that the extra $150 would be cheap at the price.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the 61-SE's are a tad higher in retail now but you have to check as they are releasing a new catalog soon.

The 61-SE is still a superior speaker to the MC-6C but it has a deeper cabinet and is rear ported. If you have the space and can avoid blocking the rear port, I'd go with the 61-SE.
