RBH 1010-SEP or Axiom EP500 or Axiom EP600?

I'm trying to decide between the RBH 1010-SEP and the Axiom EP500 or EP600 subwoofers.

Does the RBH sound any better than the Axioms? I'm considering it primarily because I can get it in rosewood finish.

My room is about 2000 CuFt, so I presume that any of the above will get plenty loud.

If you read the EP500 review, its shows Gene comparing the ep500 to his 2 1010sen subs. Seems to be leaning towards the ep. Plus it was given an award from audioholics.

Send a PM to gene, he has listenned to both, and will give you a good answer.

PS- Gene, prepare for a PM or 2  :p :)

Hello
The RBH-1010 was a good subwoofer in its day but is dated
The EP-500 and EP-600 would be a significant upgrade
Lower extension and higher output are the two main benefits but there are others as well;)

Can't comment on the RBH but just received the EP-600 and it is a great sub. I would think with a 2000 cu ft room the EP-500 would provide more than enough bass. I have the EP-600 in a 7000 cu ft space and it is doing the job. I think that Axiom is onto something with their Intelligent DSP Technology. The EP-600 is comparable to my all time favorite sub, the Velo DD-18 but at about a third of the price. Axiom has a great 30 day trial and you would only be obligated to pay the return shipping(<$50).

An in-home demo is the only way you can tell if a sub (or any speaker for that matter) will work in you environment.

As long as it doesn't turn into a disaster like it did on AVS.

I like RBH speakers but the RBH vs Axiom would not be a fair shootout. The EP-500 or 600 would make the 1010 push up daisy's very quickly;)

It's Decided Then :)

Thanks for all the help.

I'll be contacting Axiom shortly to figure out which color to get :)

I think you'll be happy. Please report back with pics and a review if it is not too much trouble.

Im not talking about EP vs SEP,

Im talking 12 subwoofers, each from a diff manufacturer, and testing them to see who is the champ ;)
