PMC Twenty 24 speakers
Parasound New Classic 2100 Preamp
Parasound New Classic 2250 Amp
Marantz SA-8005 CD Player\
Music Hall MMF 2.2

I am still trying to learn and process a lot of information but this was the setup minus the cd player recommended by a friend who does audio for a living so I have the bonus of getting the pieces at cost.
I threw the Marantz in after looking through articles on this site and others.
It was also suggested that I could by another amp and bi amp the speakers down the road but I am thinking I will wait to see how this performs as is first because the bi amping thing confuses me even more.

I am just curious if anyone strongly dislikes any of these components, dislikes using them together, has alternative suggestions or any general advice or information they may want to share.

Thanks ahead of time to anyone who takes the time to lend any feedback, yay or nay.

As long as those speakers are suitable for your particular situation, I suspect they're a good choice. PMC speakers are touted by a few folks around here who are real persnickety.

Cons that strike me: Kinda retro. You could simplify by going with a networking, DAC equipped receiver. Reduce the number of components, save by going with a less pricey cd player/transport, and gain more modern connectivity options. (The Marantz cd player may have usb inputs and other functions to address some of this, I really don't know. But I do know that some day I'll be fully 'puter based and no longer spinning shiny silver discs, and suspect you too would want to consider such things.)

Also, you don't need to bi-amp. Bigger amp? Maybe, but he Parasound is no slouch. Keep your speakers' power handling limits if you do actually determine you need more power. Due to the relation of power to spl, you really need to pour it on to get appreciably louder.

Dealer cost is a plus. Never pay retail.

Ooops, I guess the Parasound pre does have a DAC, so ignore my 'retro' comment.
