Here's the 411....I had 2 Mirage Unitheater LCR's as my previous theater setup (1 in front, 1 in rear).
I changed over all my stuff to towers a bit back now, and had no use for one of the Mirages, so I sold it on Ebay.
Well, the buyer messaged about the center channel Mid-bass driver not working, which I know for absolute fact that it did, and it was very well packaged and not received damaged at all. After dealing with his rambling, senseless emails, I eventually told him to kick rocks, knowing beyond all certainty that it was sent in perfect working order, and the item was listed as no returns.

He filed complaint with Ebay, and they decided to issue him refund to get us "back to square one", as they said. So they ordered him to ship back the item, issued his refund and ordered me to pay them the $411 from the auction. Not too happy was I.

Speaker came back today, tested it, the driver is indeed not working. Call Mirage to order replacement.....they want serial for whatever reason.....not the same as it used to be.....hmmmmm????

Appears that Captain ****face sent back to me a different speaker....more than likely the one he already owned that was busted, bought mine which worked quite fine, and got his money back, leaving me with a broken piece of junk. I could have just invited him over to blow my speaker at my house and avoided all the red tape it took for him to do it.

I'm happy as hell with Ebay right now....sent them an email about the case, we'll see what they say (probably "**** you")

File a complaint with the FBI's cyber crime division, they take this stuff very seriously and were able to resolve some problems I had. Make sure you have the serial number of the unit you sent out and of the one you recieved. Also It's good, but not necessary, if you have pics of the original with serial numbers.

That is total BS, but I expect nothing less from fleabay and that is why I don't use them. They didn't even get involved to see what was going on, they just did it and they were wrong.

Did you list the item with a picture of the serial number? (protip, always include a picture that shows the serial number when selling items online)

That is extremely rotten what they did. what is their eBay account name so I can make sure I and others can add them to our block lists?

For a criminal he showed some level of consideration by not leaving you negative feedback (which would leave your eBay account in ruins). So basically he broke into your house, stole your stuff, but had the heart not to burn the place down.

It sure seems he's quite the opportunist, who knows how long he's been waiting for an auction to appear with no picture of the serial number so he could pull this little diddy.

I'll remember this guy's name and pass it on, though I doubt it will help considering this was probably a one time transaction deal. If he does this regularly there is a chance he has several ghost accounts that have no activity. This is a good enough reason to swear off bidders with "0" feedback. It's a real shame too.

On one hand you could consider yourself lucky the guy didn't remove the non working driver from his speaker and transplant it into yours then pull the same scenario. At that point you wouldn't have any ground to stand on at all. You can hope that Mirage will be able to work with you and the authorities to correct the issue and hold the wrongdoer accountable.

The driver is $52 and Mirage does have them, I'll file my complaints, but I have a feeling that this one might end up just being a lesson in not trusting people.

Makes you wonder why he didn't just order the flippin driver. It would have cost him about the same. He had to pay shipping both ways didn't he?

His shipping was covered by ebay on the way back, and refunded from me for the initial shipping to him

What a rip. I always only do transactions on fleabay for things that I am able to loose.

Sorry for the loss. I think I've only been burned on one speaker. Bought a Boston sub for the car and it was blown.
