To setup my sub with an EQ to get a flat frequency response do I need a Radio Shack SPL meter? Would this be the easiest way of going about this?

You do need some way to find the in room frequency response, if you are think of using a Radio Shack meter and a CD of test tones, it's not the easiest way, but it's about the cheapest.

The reason the Radio Shack meter is usually recommended is because its response is generally known, and correction factors are available for its inaccuracies.

On another note, what kind of EQ are you planning on using?

I am not familiar with that CD.

But this is one Hertz resolution and can be burned to a CD.
