You see the Radio Shack SPL meter mentioned in just about any post relating to calibrating your sound system, but I have a question about the meter it's self.
Radio Shack carries two models of the SPL Meter, one is Analog for $39 and the other has a Digital display for $49. Why does everyone use the Analog Meter when the Digital is only $10 more and would seem to be not only more accurate but also easier to use?
There is even an Audio Calibration CD that is adjusted for the Radio Shack ANALOG SPL meter, it clearly states analog and not digital. What advantages, if any, does the analog meter have over the digital meter besides being $10 cheaper?
