Read that the other day. Very sad. RIP
That is sad. I had a phone conversation with Bill Payne a few weeks ago and was hoping Richie might get a transplant. He was a great drummer.

Seriously, I have no life.
Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward died 2 days ago another great one gone.....you will be missed brother.. http://www.littlefeat.net/
He passed in Thursday but regardless, it's a big loss. I heard that he was sick over a year ago and they said he didn't have health insurance.

I had read that he was doing a bit better recently but the Facebook page said it was pneumonia that took him. I was hoping that he was improving enough that he might travel with them since they're playing in MKE on Oct 23. It's a shame- I haven't read or heard a bad word about him.

Here's the tribute page-

Agreed. Waiting For Columbus is the Feat at their best. Richie Hayward was my favorite drummer in perhaps my all-time favorite band. There is some fantastic film footage of him playing in this DVD, on the Day at the Dog Races (fourth track). What a sad loss.

I have seen Little Feat several times and two or three times with Lowell. One particular time in KC, Litttle Feat had played and come out for two encores. The crowd just would not let up and finally Lowell came out by himself with just slide guitar and played a song I never heard again called "*ss for Days". It was a blues song and thinking about it gives me goose bumps. It was awesome.
