Big bad Bobby Probert has gone to that penalty box in the sky. He died yesterday, of what appears to be a heart attack, at the age of 45. Playing for the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks in a 16-year career that spanned from 1985-2002, Probert accumulated 3,300 penalty minutes, the fifth-highest total of all time. He also finished with 384 points, including 163 goals.

He had his share of problems with drugs and alcohol, with resultant run-ins with the law. But, he was loved by teamates and feared by opponents.

This is sad news, watching him fight was a thing of beauty I personally feel he was the greatest enforcer they just don't make them like that anymore.

That sucks. Being a Flyers fan I can appreciate a good enforcer and Bob Probert was a great one. R.I.P.

They don't make them like Bob Probert anymore. Oh, how hockey has changed and not for the better.
