Hey I have a samson sx 1200 pa and numark m2 mixer with rca outputs. I have samson rs12hd speakers which have speakon inputs. I wanted to know since my mixer only has 2 rca outputs how do I connect my pa to the mixer so I get sound from each speaker. The mixer is connected to a turntable and the PA has TRS inputs and 5 way post. Do I need to buy a 1/4" to dual rca or 1/4" to rca (x2).

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't those passive speakers (unpowered,) and isn't that an unpowered mixer?

If the speakers had a built in amp, they would have 1/4" inputs or something like that and an output control.

If the mixer had a built in amplifier, it would have speaker outputs.

So unless I am missing something, you need a device called an amplifier.

Ah, I missed that, sorry. Talking about RCA confused me, as those are almost always line level connectors.

I believe, if you have 1/4" speaker outputs, you want a 1/4" to Speakon cable. Call up Sweetwater or Zzounds and they will help you out. They have been great to me.
