I was bored today since i have a day off.
I reset my receiver and re calibrate every thing using auto calibration.
I have notice that the auto calibration set my speakers to,74db,+1.0db Left and +1.5db right. It also set my center and rear surrounds a db higher, +4.0 dbcenter 78 db,left rear +4.0db 76db,right rear +5.0db 76db.
does this seem a bit unbalance to any one?

during a test playing Master Commander at cannon scene, the db gets to 105-109 at peaks. So my question is,should i turn down my rear surrounds to match my front left and front right speakers?

Do whatever sounds right to you. I would not call it unbalanced if that is what the calibrated level is. Do you have an SPL meter that you can verify the levels with? If not, then if it sounds like the surrounds are a bit too high, lower them a dB or so.

it's a digital one from radio shack.but, the surrounds do sound a bit high.

I tend to knock mine down about 1-2dB from calibrated level for movies too, just because it sounds a little more realistic that way to me with most movies. I adjust with the meter first and then by ear to my liking.
