Quick 3.5mm Cable Question

Does anyone know where I can get a 6 inch male-to-female 3.5mm stereo minijack cable?

I can't seem to find anything but Y splitters in the 6" length. I can always make one myself (or just buy the Y and chop one off ), but if I could just buy one that would be preferred.

My Shure SE420 earphones have the modular cable setup where they terminate at the junction between left and right phones and you can add any length cable you want; I want a really short one so I can have it in the media pocket of my jacket when I walk to school/bike/snowmobile/etc. and not have a wadded up 5 foot cable in there all of the time. Just hooking the player up to the phones section is about 5 inches too short...

So far, the shortest that I've found in the Shure EAC9BK nine-inch cable, but it's about $15 at the two stores that I checked.

I could live with 9"; I may even find that flexibility would be better for other applications. $15 is pretty spendy though. That is Shure for you. I should probably just consider the other alternatives I mentioned.

I'm having the same trouble as you tracking stuff down.

This is kind of lame, but you could get one of these 6" 3.5mm male to 2.5mm female cables combined with one of these 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female adapters. I don't really like that, but I'm throwing out ideas.

There has got to be a 6" cable like that!

Will do! I ordered a 6" and a 1' just for fun. They do seem to have a lot of potentially hard to find cabling for reasonable prices. I may end up using them in the future for some custom PC's.

So, I was pretty excited about the free shipping, but I didn't get the order confirmation until today, and it shipped via Malaysia post, which, unless you live in Malaysia, will probably take a while to get here. Oh well .
