These monsters are on sale over at UBID for $600 a pair. I have never heard them, but from the specs, they are VERY efficient, 97 Db. You could probably drive them with just about any midrange receiver. They are 8 ohm, which also makes them easy to drive. If you were going to use them without a sub, you may want to go a bit higher on power, to drive those huge 15's.

You need to include a budget for any useful feedback on what to power them with. For super cheap, I would look at the sherwood receivers. They seem to be a good bargain.

Where the heck are you going to put these things? Just curious. I picture them in a frat house getting beer spilled on them:D

Welcome Jeffm2...yeah, as stated above, just throw out a price range and I'm sure you'll get plenty of useful suggestions. Don't worry about not having a ton of money to dump into it. Cash flow is what it is...if you don't have a lot, i'm sure many here can point you in a direction to get the most for your money. :)

Those will be perfect for that. If it's only for two channel, and you don't need a tuner, I would consider going for an integrated amplifier. Get as big of one as you can afford. Maybe used would be best? Those speakers can handle 500 watts each. Again, we need to know how much you want to spend.

You still need a preamp if you're going to get a big amp, but I have to recommend against Pyramid. They're overall quality is pretty crappy. That Behringer I think would be a much better buy.

I would say you could do well by going for this and the Behringer Amp mentioned above. This would allow you to drive a pair of speakers with a CD player, as well as use a microphone if you wanted to have announcements or whatever. You could get the entire package (minus speakers and speaker cable) from Musician's Friend. I'll assume you already have cables to connect your CD player to the mini mixer.

Here's a microphone: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/270490/
And a cable: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=live/search/detail/base_pid/338070/
You can make your own speaker cables with this: http://www.westlake-electronic.com/cgi-bin/store.php?search=yes&detail=yes&and=0&SUBCAT=all&keywords=5000UE&item_no=BEL-3059&category=CAB&redir=1

You'll rock the house down!
