Questions Regarding Polk's RTiA Towers...

It's been suggested to me that the best tower match for my Polk CSi30 center would be the RTiA's, as far as tonal and timbre cohesion (I have been looking at a new set of floorstanders to replace my R20 bookshelves for the new house).

Just the other day, I found a great deal on RTi8's from OneCall.com and then realized that these are from the slightly outdated "RTi" series, not the new "RTiA"...my question now is, does anyone know if just the newer RTiA's must be used with my CSi center, or can an older RTi be used, and what is the difference between them?

The RTi8s may be a better match to your older CSi30 than the newer RTiAs.

Thanks, 'Rat!

This actually makes sense; do you think the RTi8's would be okay, timbre-wise, with the CSi30, for sure?

Would the RTiA's actually not work at all?

You might want to try contacting Polk. They might have some ideas as to which speaker would be a good match.

I tried contacting them and didn't hear back.

Just tonight, I pulled the trigger on a pair of RTi8's for $299 a piece; I hope these perform as well as the RTiA series, which are newer...

Thats a good choice.

The Polk forums would have been another place to check for info on the center.

From what I gather the RtiA are not a huge step forward. Mainly aethetic from what I have heard. The offer the newer curved cabinets.

Indeed; I finally heard back from their support staff at the site and they claim the RTi8's should be a "reasonable" match for the CSi30 center...

I heard similar; must be the gospel then. Thanks. ;)
