thinking of buying a def tec c/lr 2500 or2300 center for my system ;yamaha techs say if I hook up sub from the pre amp and and hook up the mid range to regular center out that only the sub will work. is this true. They show a y connector set up in the manual for the speaker and bi & tri wireing that I don't want to do. Thanks for your help Waxey

Connect the Def Tech to the "center out" line level with one pair of wires. Set the center speaker to large and it will get the full range of frequencies including those normally sent to sub.

I have the C/L/R 3000 and the C/L/R 2300 or C/L/R 2500 will also work great!.

Good Luck!

use speaker wire set to small and cross at 40-60Hz, otherwise you'll get distortion in that "mid bass" subwoofer.
