Question related to 2500 budget system, and future proofing

Hi All,

So this will be my first adventure beyond the normal T.V. speakers. I never really had the money to explore this further. Anyways, I would like to do something now and wanted to ask a few questions if I may.

Thoughts so far:
I am thinking the pioneer setup from Andrew jones (fs52, bs22 etc) and and svs pb-1000 sub.

For the receiver I was thinking about extending myself a bit and getting the marantz sr 5007. The reasoning would be so that in the future I could hook up an amp to the preouts.

My goal and well to be honest the furthest my wife would likely let me take this new interest is something along the lines of the cost of the psb image t6 line. I have not heard them but like their look and reviews. I would hear them prior to buying though.

I guess my question is would this receiver and sub work well enough to be used in the future with speakers at the quality level of those psb t6 speakers? Would that receiver be enough for those psb speakers or would surely need an amp in 5.1 setup. I primarily watch movies with my family and play video games, and the room is moderately sized for a house that is 2700 sqft.

I heard nothing but good about PSB speakers and if you could have a listen for them in local dealer - and could afford 5.0 psb and have about 700-800 for sub and about 400-500 for avr
in Other words - about 1300 - which is not much for PSB, but who knows. Keep in mind it's only critical to keep the front 3 matching. you could easy get away with Pio's bs22 for surrond duty.
This mean about $1200 for 3x psbs or focals fronts - which is pretty decent budget.

Sub: From what I heard LR12 is respectable sub, but it's unfortunately outclassed by price comps. from HSU/Outlaw - right now crazy deal for Outlaw LFM1-EX1 - $599 w/free shipping

AVR: Refub Denon/Marantz from AC4L like this one: MARANTZ SR5007 100w x7 NetworkingTheater Receiver w/AirPlay 3D 4K | Accessories4less

The LV12R is a lot more than respectable; it's fantastic (I've heard both of those subwoofers in person). The Outlaw has more "boom" to it, while the Rythmik is more precise. Both seem targeted at different users, but for sure nothing in that general price range 'outclasses' the LV12R. If anything, it's the other way around.

I just rechecked the prices and I see LV12R is same price as EX1 and also offered with free ground shipping. For some reason I thought it would be $100 more expensive and without free ship....

In any case I have no doubt that LR12R is a bit more precise sub, but without a doubt audioholics gave EX1 certified Large rooms for a reason... and OP did mentioned 2700sqft room

I'm not going to argue with you which one is better sub since I have heard ether, but we do have at least one person on here forums (ImcLoud) which had both in same room LV12R and HSU VTFx sub (which is as you know, Outlaw is based on) and chose the latter.

Bottom line, OP could not go really wrong with ether of these great subs.

I haven't heard the LV12r, but I did do a direct A/B level matched comparison with its predecessor, the FV12, with the Outlaw LFM-1 EX.
