Question regarding hooking a stereo amp to HT Receiver

Hey guys,


If you connect an integrated stereo amp to a ht receiver via the pre-outs on the ht receiver, will the the volume of the front speakers raise and lower with the volume control on the ht receiver or the amp? Basically I am curious if the pre-outs from the ht receiver send a variable signal? Thanks for your help!

Yes, "preamp outs" send a variable signal.

I hope you're sending it it the "main (power amp) in" of the integrated amp otherwise you can easily overdrive it's preamp if you are sending it to a plain high level Aux input or tape monitor.
