QUESTION: Harman Kardon HK-3390 Receiver and HDTV?

I just purchased HK 3390 and I'm interested in buying a Samsung HDTV around 26-32". I know it is a stereo receiver and I plan to hook up Bose 301 speakers to them. I'm wondering if I'll be able to hook up my HDTV to the HK 3390. I don't need surround sound or HD sound, I just want to be able to use the Bose speakers as the main speakers for my TV.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I know it also depends on the TV, but how are we supposed to know if it'll work?

(Sorry I'm a newbie with this sound system stuff!)

To connect the 3390 to the video display, the display needs to have an L/R analog audio output..
Many displays no longer have an analog audio output, so you will need to check this point for your specific display... You mite check out the 3490 as it has digital inputs (optical & coax) which is unique for a stereo receiver.
Both the 3390 & 3490 will drive the 301s very well.

Just my $0.02.. ;)

Yea, that's what I'm afraid of... I was looking into a Samsung 32'...

http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN32C450-32-Inch-720p-Black/dp/B0036WT3IO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1282934650&sr=1-1

Will I be able to connect this TV to the HK-3390?

In checking the Samsung website and the Operation Guide for the LN32C450, it does indicate it has both analog audio output (3.5 m/m stereo to L/R RCAs) and digital audio output (Optical). So YES the 3390 will connect fine with an analog audio cable.
Or the 3490 with either an analog audio or digital optical audio cable.

Hope that helps..
