Question about upscaling

I'm a real novice at this, but here is my question. I have a Pioneer PDP-5070HD plasma, a Pioneer VSX-1016TXV-k receiver, and a Pioneer DV-F07 DVD player. I liked the idea of being able to control all the components through the SR+ feature. My question is, Is there a device that the DVD signal can be run through to upscale the signal to the reciever and/or TV? Or is any upscaling that is possible already being done by one or the other? I guess the real question is, am I getting the best possible DVD picture I can, or can I add a component that will make it better? Any help will be appreciated.

All TV's internally "upscale" whatever is input to their native format which in your case is 1365 x 768. This means that sending it anything more than a 720signal is a waste of time, effort an money.

There are DVD players (and I believe some receivers) that will upscale to your hearts content but unless thay can do a better job than the upscaler built into your TV, again, it would be a waste of time, effort an money.

but, hey, I could be wrong.
