Question about stacking receiver?

In the manual it says not to put anything on top or close beside my yamaha 1500 so I was wondering if it would be ok to stack my receiver on top of my yamaha cdc-585 cd player? Is that too much weight for the cd player to hold or will the amp not sound as good being over top or ??? also is it bad for the equipment, or the tv, when putting the components right on top of the tv? The TV is an older big screen RCA projection tv with wood casing and has enough room to put stuff on top, but I will figure something else out if this will harm anything. Thanks for the help!!

The Cd player may not like all that weight, extra heat, and some interference may be involved here. Best not to stack it.
