Question about receiver/ amp combo

I am thinking about picking up an Emotiva UPA-7 to power my speakers and using my Pioneer receiver as a processor/pre-amp. The Pioneer decodes the lossless audio formats that my bd player sends via bitstream. My question is...will I still get the lossless audio by using the pre-outs on the pioneer going to the emotiva?

You certainly should. The pre-outs are just sending an (unamplified) version of what the Pioneer would have amplified and then sent to your speakers. Outside of using a different amp, there shouldn't be any difference in what gets sent to the speakers.

That is what I thought. But I wanted to make sure before shelling out for the EMO. After getting myself setup for lossless audio I had to make sure I would be able to hear it!. Thanks

Emotiva Amps

Jim,
You have a pretty nice receiver. I have one of the Emotiva LPA-1 amps and would recommend it, but you might want something more powerful to provide an upgrade over your current receiver. You might consider the XPA-5 amp or invest in room treatments or another system upgrade.
