Hello Friends over the Border. I have a question regarding power. i want to switch my surrounds
RTI A1s to floorstanding RTI a5s. to make some sound improvements. Move the RTI A1s to front Heights. I run a 7.3 system using a Yamaha RXV-1081. My fronts, rears, and center channel are power of an Emotiva basx700 amp, therefore the surrounds are the only speakers powered off the Yamaha. I dont want to buy another separate, the specs for the Yamaha are as follows
110w 0.06% THD 2 channels driven
120w 0.9% THD 2 channels driven
130w 10% THD 2 channels driven
I employ bass management and all speakers are set to small
Is the power of the receiver enough to properly power the Polk RTI a5,s, (set to small) the polks spec is 20-250 watts recommend power to them.
Appreciate it
DEREK G.

Not sure what you're worried about. Your external amp and avr amps are of similar output. The max wattage rating of a speaker doesn't mean much more than a melting point, doesn't mean you need that much power.

However, curious, are you going to have front heights in addition to rear surrounds?
