I have a pair of Polk Audio Model 10B. The speaker company claim that they operate at 22,000 hertz.
The sound coming from the speakers is incredible. They also said the human ear can not really discriminate
the sound above 20,000 hertz.

Is the extra 2000 hertz making the difference ? or is that they claim the speakers construction also
delivers 3D sound imaging?.

I have not heard any other speakers sounding as good as these Polk Audio model 10B speakers.
I mean not even high end speakers costing thousands of dollars more.

Imaging is not a function of the upper limit of a driver's response. There are a lot of factors that come into play. IMO, the claim that the tweeter extends to 22K (which is still common today) is in reference to the fact that it can play cleanly above the average listener's hearing, which theoretically could translate into cleaner sound in the audible range. I can't say I've seen that proven.

"3D" is in reference to how well a speaker can recreate the width and depth of a particular recording.

A "Better" speaker and what you prefer are not the same thing.
