Question about HD DVD

So what results would you get hooking up either HD DVD systems to a 1366 x 768 plasma? Standard DVD look really good, but curious to know if I can squeeze a bit more definition out. Or would using a OPPO to upscale be more benifit?

You'll get higher resolution for starters...
standard def DVD = 480 lines of vertical resolution
HD DVD = 720 or 1080 vertical lines

Actual HD DVD player with an HD-DVD disc will provide higher resolution than the Oppo. The oppo just upscales the signal, it doesn't add any extra resolution to the picture.

HD DVD or Blu Ray will look much better than DVD on that display. No question.

How large is your RV and how far do you sit?
Yes, you may indeed squeeze more but the above may nullify it if the screen is small and you are too far back.

There is a pretty noticeable difference between the better high def titles and upscaled DVD. It will definitely be worth it IMHO.

Hmmmm...Sounds promising, the TV is a HITACHI 55HDT79 [55 INCH], its their "middle" line. Sitting about 10 feet. Any good results with the XBOX 360 player?

I've seen a few movies on the 360 add on and it looked great. Pretty much the same as my PS3 with BD.
