Hello everyone. Im new to this site so if this is the wrong section then I want to apologize. But I had a question about adding some speakers to an existing theater setup. My husbands birthday is coming up and Id love to buy him a pair of speakers that I can get a good deal on. Im not too familiar with audio setups but I know he bought a onkyo home theater in a box thingy a couple years ago for our media room. He's always been talking about upgrading the speakers because the ones that came with the system were ok. But anways, I found a good deal on some front speakers made by definite technology called BP6. I read reviews and they seem like good speakers but I dont know if its ok to add them to his current system. Would that be ok? Im sure they will work but I want to make sure they will be better then the ones he has now. Will be a big noticeable difference or will it be hard to tell? The receiver hes using is a Onkyo HT-RC160 if that helps with anything. I just want to buy him these and let him start upgrading his system so we can watch some movies! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you mean the Definitive BP6 Tower speakers, then yes the receiver
will drive them. They are way better than Onkyo speakers.

I agree with the center speaker suggestion.

These fine new speakers will drown out that poor, old, outclassed center.

That, plus the front three should be of the same family (make/model).

P.S. You sound like a fine wife.
