Is there a difference in Toslink Digital Optical Cables or not? I'm running them from my Digital Cable box, CD players and DVD player to my Sony 3000es home theatre receiver. The runs are no longer than 2 meters. I've seen a wide variation in prices and claims for these cables and am confused. Is it worth the money to buy glass cables vs. plastic? How could this be since these cables are only transmitting light which the receiver is either picking up and reading properly or it is not. I can't imagine that some kind of expanded frequency response or equivalent for fiber optic cable could have any effect since it's just transmitting 1's and 0's. Am I wrong? If so how and why. What is the best buy for the money when it comes to these connections? Thanks, PVPeacock.
