Anyone out there heard of the Pure AV power conditioners made by Belkin? Anybody know if they are any good? Reason being, I am in need of a power center and dont want to spend a lot of money. I am looking at Pure AV stuff and also Monster - reason being, I get a discount at a place that sells the two. So, if you guys have any advice either way that would be great.

Thanks

How much are you looking to spend, and do you want the "Component" style of conditioner? Tripp-Lite makes some great bar-style units that can be had for under $100. Monster makes quality stuff, but it's overpriced. If you can get a great discount, then it might be worth it. I've never used Belkin, but I know there are users here who have purchased the units.

I happen to have the Belkin AP41300, a few of the Monsters (HTS 5200 and 3500 MKII) and a Panamax. The Belkin wasn't particularly cheap ($700), but I like it the best out of the three. They all seem to function equally well, but the Belkin has a very clean design.

The Belkin Pure AV models sure look pretty. I read the manuals for a couple of the models online and they at least appear to be feature packed for a reasonable price. I am considering getting one as well, but have yet to find any user reviews.

I have been considering one of the Belkin Power Centers. Amazon and Buy.com have these at close to 1/2 the price I have seen elsewhere.

They were reviewed favorably in WSR several months back, but it was a 100% subjective evaluation, FWIW.

I just bought a Belkin Pure AV PF 30 today and plugged the following into it:

Rotel RSX 1055
Rotel RDV 1060
DVDO iScan HD

Panasonic HDTV Plasma
Xbox 360.

The reason i bought it was for surge protection, and this model looks really good especially in my B&O av rack. I hate to say it, and would never believe it if someone else said this, but it has actually improved my sound and video quality. I figured that if I bought a Richard Grey unit I may hear/see something different for better or worse, but dont have the budget for that yet. I DO notice something different in my system with the Belkin. I know may of you think that cant be possible and depending on your original power source it may be more noticable to some then others, but its there.

for $300 CDN APX I highly recomend it.

Been looking at the PF 30{$103} and the 40{$145}. Except for the #of outlets and joules, dont see a lot of difference. Anything just as good in this price range out there?

Maybe something equal, but probably not better, and not better looking.

Have you looked into the furman power conditioners? They have the
"reference" series, the 15 amp one is about $600. A related option, I'm probably going to buy a cheap rackmount power conditioner for the equipment from furman such as the PM-8 and a power factor pro for
the amp.

why not look at the APC H15?

its not only a conditioner but it provides regulation.

if you look hard you can get one shipped for $200 :)
