Hi, newbie here.
I have a Pure Acoustics subwoofer that has developed a sound that I can only describe as 'motorboating' or a repetitive loud thudding sound when switched on.
The sound fades to a constant hum and no bass is emitted during music or av use of the receiver. The sub is connected to the Onkyo 807 receiver using a grounded Sub rca cable.

I would like to attempt a diy repair if possible before I replace it with something which is hopefully and upgrade. I have removed the amplifier and the transistors, caps and resistors seem ok with no obvious signs faulty components on pcb.

Any constructive advice will be appreciated.
Thanks

I'd probably skip fixing this one and put the funds toward an upgrade. Sounds like the amp is failing on that one and info on the web doesn't turn much up on it. If you had a spare amp around, you could bypass the internal one, but if you have to buy an amp, I'd just replace it. What's the budget and room size?
