Purchase a new Rcvr. Pioneer VSx-918

I purchased a new rcv'r last night. I got everthing hooked up basic. Now how do you get on screen display so I can do MCCAC?? I just got home from work and couldn't find a distinct answer in the manual. I am not smart in this stuff as you can see. Any advice would be great. I will be back with a full review. Keep in mind I haven't hooked up the DVD player through the rcvr yet as i am waiting on a new HDMI cable

You might have to hook up an analog cable to the TV (yellow cable).

I have Componet cables and Rca audio/video cables. Do I need to connect this from my dvd player to the rcvr and the rcvr to the tv To get OSD??

How do you have the receiver connected to the TV? If you have connected the component or composite video output from the receiver to an input on the TV, then you should be able to get the OSD when you:

1. Switch the TV to the correct video input
2. Press the RECEIVER button on the receiver's remote, then press the SETUP button on the remote

You can't get an OSD from the 918 if you only use an HDMI cable to connect the receiver's video output to the TV (as krzywica was mentioning).

Thanks again. Turns out I had the components correct. It was a dark screen. I thought it wasn't correct. But after you told me receiver then set up on the remote I saw the OSD I ran MCCAC. I will watch a movie soon. I LOVE this receiver so far. Upper levels are so much louder and pronounced. I'm so much happier with the sound then I was with the Onkyo 304
