'HI!

Let me introduce myself... I'm at Argentina (If my english is not perfect, sorry;);))...

I' ll be buying a 1080p proyector. I' ll be projecting from 5.00 mts (16,6 feet?). The screen is 106".

I'm at Bs As., so there is not much possibility o researching by watching the projectors working....so I'm reading all the reviews and, now, asking you.-

Which you consider is the best 1080o (up to U$ 2500 -2800 aprox)?

Panas PTAE-3000 atracted me by it's memory function, 2.35 emulation ...

Last year I've seen here a Mitsu 5500 and was great, so the 6500 must be wonderfull...

Epson ????

Thank you for your replies!!!!!

You aren't going wrong with any of these models. They all have reviews (pretty much) here, at Projector Reviews, and at Projector Central which you should read.

I personally have heard really good things about all of them, but lean towards the best overall image and blacks which the Epson can deliver. It is, at best, marginally better for image quality than the others. MARGINALLY.

You are basically choosing the color of the Mercedes you are buying - they are all really nice products.

Thank you!!

I' ve read everything I found. I was really interested in the pana, until I've read that the epson has a brighter and sharper image.

Is that true? Or is a difference of a 2,13%;) that's impossible to see for normal people?

The difference is not huge between the two and they are both excellent. Given the two projectors side by side you MIGHT see a difference. But, given a week between seeing projectors I would think that you probably could not visibly detect any difference at all.

Really, it's really hard, but neither is the 'worse' product - they are both excellent.

Does the panny get brighter though? Might be a better PJ overall for ambient light possibilities.

I agree you can't go wrong with either.

I lean towards the Epson because it has such great contrast and versatility with zoom and brightness.

Similarly the Epson 720 projector offers this up.

The Epson and Panasonic projectors are incredibly similar in 'best' mode performance, but Epson seems to have a bit of an edge overall in performance in recent times it seems and is who I would likely buy from if I were to buy new.

Of course, I just got a AE1000 nearly new for a phenomenal price, so that's what I'm using right now.

I' ve been busy, so I couldn't go on with my research....

Someone who knows about PJ, told me that PTAE3000 has a problem, which for me is Scaring. DUST GETS INSIDE THE LENS ! ! !

Is it real????

What about Mitsu HC-6800?
