A New York dog has survived a potentially deadly medical condition thanks to a famous blue pill.
Ingrid the pit bull receives four Viagra pills a day. The medication opens blood vessels and allows blood to flow through the dog's body.
The pills have been donated by men on long island. But they may not last.
"If every man in America that has Viagra sends one pill to Ingrid that will be keeping her alive for several years," said Jodi Record, Ingrid's caregiver.
Jodi hopes someone will also step forward to adopt Ingrid, who's been living in a shelter for years after being rescued. She was used as a "bait" dog to instigate dog fights.
"She spent her life tied to a fence," said Record.
If you are interested in adopting Ingrid call 631-368-8770 or visit the Little Shelter website.
