Hi,

Before coming to the forum, I had almost made up my mind on the B&W 683s.

After a lot of reading, i was also introduced to the psb speakers.

Going through their catalog, I beleive that Imagine T would a comparable speaker to the B&W 683.

Do any of you experts have any suggestions on which of these would be a better buy?

I am looking to pair these with a Yammy 9300

If you’re looking at speakers in this price range, I would suggest you try both, and see which you like better. Ideally, this should be done in your setup.

Well I have auditioned the 683s but NOT the Imagine series.

I will be doing do shortly. The B&W series sounded awesome. But I have a suspicion that it was due to the high-end rotel equipment driving it.

I wonder how they will sound on the Yamaha :(

Ask them if it's cool if you can bring your Yammy in. ;) Be nice, call, make appointment. :)

Some work on your part, but perhaps worth it.

Most of B&W dealers let you bring your own receiver or evenlet you audition speakers at home for some payment, which is usualy deducted from speaker price if you decide to buy them.

Personally, I like the Imagine's significantly better than the 683's or any speaker in the 600 or 700 series. More neutral, better imaging, and better looks although just a hair less dynamic on very complex passages. Throw in the very poor center channels of the 600 series and I'd take the Imagine's easily.
