PS3 with Universal Remote

OK, so I'm a little frustrated with the fact that my otherwise "superior" Bluray player/PS3 uses Bluetooth.

I use an MX-3000 Universal Remote control which of course is RF and IR.

I know there are devices out there that can translate the Bluetooth codes to RF, just wondering if someone else out there has already done this.

Ulitimately, I'm wanting to keep using my macros to control my system instead of NOW using TWO remotes since the PS3 is Bluetooth.

I know for certain I want to have the ability to turn the PS3 off and on as well as the basics of play, stop, ff, rw, pause, top menu, pop up menu.

Any else in this situation have resolution?

I know some people have bought the IR receiver and cheap PS3 remote that comes with the dongle you plug into the usb port. The set is like $20.00 and then they just throw away the remote and use the universal one to control it off the dongle. The only problem is sometimes depending on the remote, not all the functions work.

The Nyko Blu-Wave Infrared Remote is a device for controlling your ps3, it comes with an usb to use it as a signal receptor for the controller. And you can use another universal controllers as well.

For a solution, money isn't so much an issue, I just want a real and working solution that will allow me to watch my movies and control my environment with one remote.

I've already dumped bucks into the Lutron contolled lighting, and setup macros for everything I can do in the room from listen to music to playing game to watching movies... one of the last pieces regarding functionality is this, as it is screwing with my automation

I have the Nyko and it works great - true it doesn't shut the unit on or off - but I need to get up anyway to put a disc in or take it out. For $20, great solution. I use it with a Harmony 670 and an IR repeater system. No issues and it is recognized by the Harmony software.

Well here is a 2nd option this of course costs more money, you will need a Harmony remote + the PS3 adapter hope this helps
I use the Harmony solution (a Harmony One), and I'm able to control all of my regular IR-based components, my PS3 (including powering on/off), and my Lutron lighting system.

I use my patented "Wifey Please" remote where I ask real nice for my wife to walk behind the couch and turn things off and on. It works about 7/10s of the time, I'm still perfecting it.

My wifey remote comes with a "Why the hell did you spend $1000 for that stupud MX-3000 and it can't even turn on your bluray player"

My wifey remote doesn't work well on movie night.... :D
