ps3 upscaling

I am thinking of going into blue ray and was wondering what the upscaling is like on the ps3 compared to other blue rays players like the sony 350 or 550?

What display are you using? It might be better not to apply any processing at all.

I have a old school sony wega rear projection lcd up to 1080i.I was curious as to how regular dvd's would look like.With the dvd player I have now, with fast motion scenes I get some rectangular lines in the screen.
