How do I hook up my PS3 to play audio CD in stereo? My Denon AVRS510BT has HDMI inputs and an optical input. I have connected the HDMI out from the PS3 to an HDMI input on the TV, so leaves me with what seems to be only one option-the optical out from PS3 to optical in on the receiver, but only get surround sound when I playback the CD-how do I correct this? Thank you

The PS3 has audio settings which can be set to stereo if you like.

Also, check the Denon, as you can set that for stereo playback as well. Since the CD itself is stereo, I would think you may have a surround setting wrong on the Denon. Like you have it set to 7 channel stereo, which plays back through all the speakers.

I would run the HDMI out from the ps3 to one of the inputs on the receiver and use it to switch sources. you wouldn't need to use optical then at all.

That is the receiver not the PS3 doing that. CDs are STEREO unless you happen to be playing a DTS-CD which will ONLY play back in however many channels it has.
