PS3 Media Server

What would be the best software to run the PS3 as a media server, "PS3 Media Server"?

PS3 media server is pretty good, I also use Twonkymedia, and Windows Media Player. TVersity is another option as well, but I didn't care for it. Between Twonkymedia and PS3 media server you should be able to play most everything. PS3 media server will also play .iso files without having to mount them, so that may work well for you.

Yeah indeed it works great! Except that some HD video sometimes lagg. I have a complete wireless N setup. Would connecting the PS3 to a wireless N access point would solve that lagging problem?

Hardwire it if you can, using GB/s network adapter.

Wireless may work, but hard wired is always better for HD content, as PENG said go hard wired if possible, and since the PS3 has a gigabit lan jack, use gigabit router/switch if possible too.

The wireless G was causing the lagging. I bought a D-Link DAP-1522 (wireless N bridge) and it works great. No lag, even in 1080p!

PS3 Media Server Issue

Guys,

I added a PS3 slim to my office set up, primarily to stream and play the occassional game. I set up the PS3 Media Server and for the last few weeks it has worked great. Now, it can't find my PS3? I have uninstalled/reinstalled the PS3 server, updating my PS3, etc> still no joy. I get the error message PS3 can not be found, is it on? Of course it is. Looks like I am running PS3 media server version 1.20. Any ideas/thoughts? Thanks in advance!
