Was fortunate to pick up a ps3 slim and I added it to my office set-up. My pc is W7, 64 bit. I have downloaded and tried just about every server to work with my ps3 (Ps3 media server, WMP12, serviio, tversity). In each, my ps3 recoginzes them as a server, but when I click on my folder called My Music I get the error- no images, or no files! This is on EVERY server I try! Certainly not every server is corrupt, am I doing something blatanly wrong? I have been all over the internet trying to figure this out. Any ideas, suggestions? Thank you!

I don't have a PS3 but am thinking about getting one. I was looking at TVersity and they have a video and say it works flawlessly. Maybe you should look at the TVersity forums to see if anyone can help out.

Sorry I couldn't help.

Depends on the files. For example, (at least last time I checked), PS3 won't recognize .mkv files. Not so sure about audio files though.

Also try turning off windows firewall and perhaps restarting your router if you are using one (unplug power, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect).

you have to tell the media sever which folders to share, and you can only view the media type for the section you are in... meaning if you are in music in the xmb, you can only listen to music files, you won't be able to access video unless you go to the ps3 media server under the video option on the xmb. PS3 media server will also handle .mkv files.

Hi,

PMS can pretty much read/transcode any audio and video format.
However, if you want to be sure to find your file, you have go through the directories rather than the libraries.

To read video files I use PMS and go through the directories.

To read audio files (flac) on the PS3 I use Foobar 2000 and its upnp plug-in. It has a config prepared for PS3 and you do find all your audio files through the library navigation.

Which version of PMS did you try using? I just recently (last night actually) installed the stable version, which by default shares everything on your computer. I'm assuming that PMS was able to find your PS3, which would mean that your network is set up properly.

If that's not the case, make sure that PMS has all the proper permissions to get through your firewall. Like I said, mine worked fine "out of the box", but I'm having some lag issues because I'm using wifi to connect my PS3 and the data rates aren't really optimal. I'm still tweaking my set up, so if I figure out anything else that might help I'll let ya know. Can't comment on other server options, because I haven't tried any others yet.

Last question, wired or wireless on the PS3 and your computer?

this is gonna sound really basic, but are you hitting the triangle button to display the files in the folder? hitting X doesn't show the files, you have to hit the triangle and tell it to display all. does it actually say you have an error and provide you with an error code?
