Hey everyone! I am extremely stumped, and that's not a normal issue in my life when it comes to tech and AV. I just purchased a Yamaha RX-V2600e and have everything setup according to what the directions stated. My issue is, the passthrough is not working!

I have my PS3 connected to HDMI 1 (input) and I connected to my TV via the HDMI Output. I turned on the TV, Receiver, and PS3 and even though my Television recognizes the Receiver as an active HDMI Input, I simply cannot find any input that will bring the PS3 screen up. There's no sound on any of the input selections either.

What am I doing incorrectly here? From what I read, that's all that is required in order for me to be able to have full HD Surround sound on my New Home Theater system for my PS3.

Connect PS3 to receiver via HDMI 1 then HDMI Output connected directly to TV.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you VERY MUCH!

Jordan,

Could be a variety of issues:

PlayStation 3:

How did you previously have it set up, was it connected directly to the TV via HDMI? If not test the PS3 by connecting it directly to the TV via the HDMI cable and make sure that there is picture and sound.

You will need to go into the PS3 settings and make sure that the PS3 is set up to provide audio/video through the HDMI if this is not the case. I would think that this is the issue at this point, but its been a while since I owned a PS3

PS3â„¢ | Settings
- Under Display Settings
- Under Sound Settings

Go to the web link and click on the Display / Sound Settings for instructions on how to do this on the PS3

Yamaha RX2600

If you go to the audio menus of your RX2600 (Page 21 &81) ensure that the settings for this input either are set to "AUTO" or "HDMI" for input 1

Don't have a lot of experience with this receiver but the HDMI should have no problem putting up the picture. Not sure if you have older HDMI 1.1 vs 1.3 or 1.4, but even in that case it should not matter.

Cos is starting up the right track. The PS3 can do some funny things when the display (or the path to it) is changed. Do you have a cable box, computer, or anything else you can plug into the receiver to ensure that it's not the problem?
