I got this receiver off an older guy who said one day it just wouldn't turn on. Got it for free, so no loss if it IS actually fried. I'm not sure if it quit while it was on, or just was turned off and never would come back on. What could I check to try to revive this thing? Or does anyone know a chain store (or something in Gainesville, FL) that could repair something like this? Thanks in advance.

It could be something in the power supply, or not.

Unless you're a skilled, experienced, service tech with the proper equipment and access to the needed parts, not to mention the knowledge to know what they are, ther are no user servicable parts inside.

You might try your local yellow pages, or whatever they use nowadays. Say google or some such.

But, keep in mind that it may cost more than a few pennies to get it running

With a vintage piece like that, you might pop the cover and check any fuses that might be on the circuit board.
