A couple of questions.
What type of screen are you using and how is its overall performance?
What do you prefer, gray screen, bright white and why?
Are there certain cases where one is better than the other?
The reason I am asking these questions is I am getting ready to make a projector purchase I will be getting the optoma h31. I have found a deal for 1495.00 with screen, ceiling mount, cables, power strip and avia DVD. The screen they are offering its the Optoma grey wolf with 1.8 gain, but I am not so sure this is the type of screen I want, so I would like to here some opinions on this.
By the way my room has good light control, I can block out almost all the light during the day and all at night if it makes a difference.

Thank you! :)

Good choice on the Optoma H31... ;)

The screen is a matter of personal preference (there is actually quite a lot to consider). I us an OS screen with a gain of 1.0 and find it the best for my purpose. I can also block out all the available light that enters the room, the screen is more than reflective enough. Here is a comprehensive screen test done by Christopher Crim. It should shed some light on the screen material (no pun intended).

If you can get all that for $1495, it sounds like a sweet deal…maybe if you haggle with them, you may be able to get a screen change if the grey wolf is not what you want.

Cheers...
