you have all been a great help to me on this forum.... now try this one. i got a new yamaha lpx 510 rojector about 3 weeks ago(love it) however i just noticed whils seeing a part of the movie that is very dark (or even on a test pattern, as long as its black) i notice a 3 inch greenish circular swirl on a 100 inch screen about 3/4 to the right and up 3/4 from the bottom. it moves with the lens shift dial and strangely enough gets slightly smaller when i decrease the the iris to 75. i cleaned the outside of the lens but did not help????? any ideas ....is it dust inside??? called yamaha and of course they dont know. maybe this is being anal... but its something that has to be pointed out to someone at first to see, but once you notice it , its very distracting....thanks

It definately sounds like a nice little dust bunny you got. It sounds like a dust hair or something has found its way on one of the lcd panels or one of the inside light reflectors. You can try a can of compressed air to blow it out..just be very careful when using the compressed air you dont tilt it so the air "freezes" on something then dries which could cause condensation or place it too close.

If you dont want to do anything then take it to where you purchased it and they should be able to clean it for you.

Hello
I have to agree with the above post If this occurs with no input on a blank screen then something is in the light path. It may be a fingerprint, silicone contamination or debris on the inside of the lens assembly or on the bulb face.

If this PJ is under warranty I would send it in for service Using compressed air may damage the panels or make things worse and you would need to do a complete tear down to blow on the panels anyway.
