I recently purchased the EZCast Beam J4a mini DLP projector for traveling and I must say I'm quite impressed with its performance. It is very small and can easily fit into my backpack. The package comes with a soft case, remote control, tripod, and power supply.
Setting up the projector was easy, and it runs on Android, making it possible to stream content from all popular services like Netflix, Disney +, and others.
Plus, it features HDMI and USB-A inputs to play content from external sources. The image is customizable, with presets that include eco-mode, a low blue light mode, and a bright mode. There is also a handy manual wheel to focus the image and automatic keystone calibration.
I like to use it to watch movies, TV series or to play games. The software is comprehensive, with access to dozens and dozens of apps. The remote control is very easy to use, and it works with Bluetooth to manage all the features of the projector. EZCast J4a is very easy to move around, allowing you to enjoy the ultimate visual quality even outdoors. The long-lasting 3000mAh battery provides 4 hours of playtime.
While using the projector, I connected external sources via HDMI, and the mirroring options were diverse, ranging from the AirPlay protocol to Chromecast to DLNA. This allowed me to project content present on virtually any screen connected to the internet, such as a PC, tablet, or smartphone.
I honestly think it is a good product for its price. The brightness in dark or semi-dark environments is good, up to 300 ANSI lumens, as well as good image contrast. Overall, the EZCast Beam J4a I would recommend to anyone looking for a simple, space-saving, portable projector. It's perfect for content on the go, for people who use campervans, RVs, or even for people who live in dorms.
