It depends on what connections are available on your projector. Mine has several different connector, just like a tv, and I choose whichever one I like the best. Right now I am using component...but I have an HDMI cable coming in the mail so I will be trying HDMI soon too.

Bottom line: It depends on what your projector has available.

If you haven't purchased a projector yet, then it's VERY important that you do some homework before making the purchase if you want solid quality for your home theater.

Projectors act like monitors. They have video inputs, and most home theater projectors will have at least one of all the major inputs. This includes composite video, s-video, component video, VGA, and HDMI.

Generally, that's also the order of worst to best connection type to use. But, if you are hooking up a system for HDTV, then you must use component, vga, or hdmi - and hdmi is the connection that would generally be most recommended.

Audio must go into something other than the projector.

Generally, someone uses a AV receiver, and then runs HDMI into the receiver, and the receiver pulls off the audio and passes the video onto the projector.

Very good advice from BMXTRIX

Definitely do your research, not sure if you are just new to the PS3 or just new to projectors, but here is the PS3 manual online = (can't post URL, need 5 posts, Google it.....

HDMI is the way to go, get the High Definition picture going for you :D

All the receivers now have HDMI inputs and outputs; very easy to connect and control different components. All the manuals are available online to help with your research; I have a YAMAHA RX-V3800, really pumps out the sound levels!

Soon I will have 2 PS3's connected - one for Region A and the other for Region B
