I am having ongoing problems with this Yamaha product, in that it simply refuses to recognise that a CD/DVD has been inserted. Yamaha replaced the spindle motor just on nine months ago, but within three months the problem was back (intermittently). It has now died completely (again) and I am enjoying another four-plus weeks wait for the repair to be, maybe, effected. I am quite fastidious in how the equipment is used - taking all kinds of precautions to avoid power surges and the like, but it does not seem to help very much.
Has anyone else out there had this kind of issue with Yamaha SACD/DVD players, and if so, do they have any suggestions as to what might be the problem. Have to admit that I am feeling very wary of buying a Yamaha RX-V2500 receiver to go with this thing, but maybe there is a simple answer.
