Problems ordering from Dakmart.com

I have been having problems trying to purchase B-Stock from Dakmart and was wondering if anyone here has bought from them before and what was their experience like.

I purchased a B-Stock Denon 2910 from them on Saturday and they immediately charged my card, twice in fact because they claimed I hit the "buy" button twice which I did not. Minutes after placing my order I found a Denon 2900 on their Website and I wanted to switch my order for that player and just pay the additional $110 difference. They would not do that for some reason and said they would credit my bank account back for the 2910 purchase on Monday morning and then I could buy the 2900. It’s Tuesday and they still have not credited my account although they have sent me numerous emails saying they have and I cannot purchase the player I want until they issue this credit.

They show both the Denon 2910 and the 2900 on their Website and allow you to purchase and will deduct the amount from you bank account within minutes of purchasing, but then I find out that they do not have either of these players in stock and all my purchase has done is put me on a waiting list. How do they even know they will get this B-Stock player in? Who in the hell charges you for an item they may or may not be getting in stock in a time period they cannot even determine?

I cannot reach them by phone, all I get is Voice Mail and they will not return my calls. If I email their Sales Department I get nothing by one word smart-*** replies that tell me nothing. I buy almost all of my equipment on-line and so far have had nothing but good experiences; Dakmart is proving the be the exception.

Has anyone else here had problem ordering from Dakmart?

Call your credit card company/bank and let them know what you told us. They'll put a hold on the card which means Dakmart will not receive funds until the hold is lifted. You can also cancel the transaction through your credit card.

I've not heard any negatives about Dakmart, as they are an authorized dealer for Denon B stock. You can also contact Denon Customer Service and let them know of your experience, and that you've posted here which could put a little pressure on Dakmart to start returning calls.

Here's a few #'s you may try in reaching Denon:

Thanks Bucky!

Contacting my Credit Card was going to be my next step; I hate messing with my Card this close to Christmas as I am a procrastinator and doing my shopping at the last minute but I need to get this straightened out. I will give them one more chance and will then contact my Credit Card Company & let Denon know what I am going through to buy one of their products. This is my first purchase of a Denon product, they are difficult to find locally since all of the Mom & Pop Hi-Fi shops were run out of business and the two stores that do carry Denon (Home Theater & Tweeter) only carry a limed line of their models.

I just don’t understand why Dakmart would put something on their Website that they do not have in Stock and why they charged me when they did not have it, also why they withdraw the money in minutes after the sale but take days for a refund. I also don’t understand why they just won’t tell me what’s going on; do they get this model of Denon’s in every week? By placing an order and paying for it first does this put you on a waiting list and if so is there any other way to get on the list or to be emailed when the product is in stock; simple questions they will not answer, instead all I get for my questions is “No” or “OK” one-word replies from their Sales Staff.

You're welcome.

The site below does the same thing. If there's a blue phone, it means they'll call when the product comes in. In essence, they're waiting for refurbs/returns to fill their stock.

That's almost like me running a website, selling things at reduced costs, and promising when I find one for less than I'm advertising, you'll get it. ;)

Pretty good business strategy, eh? Where's the risk?

What a bunch of liars!

Dakmart has been telling me that they have credited my account and I just got off of the phone with my Bank and not only has Dakmart NOT credited my account, they are trying to get paid a second time for this order!

I order a product on-line that I believe is in stock because it allows it to be added to my shopping cart. This company charges me immediately for a product they do not have in stock and then not only lies about my refund but is also attempting to charge me AGAIN for this non-existant product?

Screw Dakmark! I am going down to Tweeter to pick up a 2910 TONIGHT; there are advantages to Brick & Mortar and this certianly is one of those advantages!

I would say screw Dakmart also. I put a couple of "best offers" on Denon 2805's that were quite reasonable, but they refused one and just let the other expire without any explanation. They seem like a pretty greedy company to me.

I bought my Denon DVD-2910 from Dakmart a few months ago. It was shipped immediately and arrived in perfect condition. Guess every company screw up once in awhile. Sorry to hear of your hassles.

same problem

I had the same sort of problem, and called Denon about it they did not seem to care. Ordered a Denon receiver waited several days it did not ship call them was told it would ship still did not, my card was charged, called to cancel was told only one person could cancel it had to wait for her to get to work since she was out. Got her she said they may have one in a month, if I wanted one and the charges would stay on my card till then. I said no cancel that took several days and another call.

I would be very cautious in buying from them, it seems they sell what they do not have in there hands or what they think they will get in. I would call and verify stock, only use a credit card when dealing with them, do not send these people a check or as I did debit with visa symbol. ONLY USE A CREDIT CARD OR A FRIENDS CARD SO THE CHARGE CAN BE DISPUTED WHEN YOU DO NOT RECEIVE YOUR ORDER.

I ordered from another company that was at the time a Denon B- supplier, Also only buy from a Denon supplier to insure Denon's Warranty. I am surprised these people are still in Denon's graces. Complain to Denon if You have a problem with Dakmart

This is truly a sad situation.

Being a dinosaur, I try to not order large dollar items directly over the internet. I'll call their customer service on a POTS line and verbally place the order. In that isn't an option, I would wonder about the outfit themselves. If they can't have someone answer the phone to take orders, can I really expect good service?

While on the phone, I'll get the persons name with whom I'm placing the order and have them verify that it's CURRENTLY in stock and ready to ship. If either is no, then I didn't want it that bad.

This can be done in a non-confrontational way and, so far, it's worked fine but, of course, this assumes the person on the other end is honest.
