Problem with ps3 and Yamaha RX-V465

I just bought a Yamaha RX-V465 receiver and love it so far. Regular ps3 games play through it fine but when I try to play a regular dvd it does not work. I took the PS3 and plugged it directly in the back of the tv and it works fine with a regular dvd. It has to be a setting in the receiver. Any ideas? Hookup is Directv to receiver hdmi, ps3 to receiver hdmi, and hdmi out to tv.

What about a DVD playing in the PS3 doesn't work through the receiver - audio, video, or both?

Both, but a game plays fine. When I hook the ps3 directly to tv with the hdmi cable a regular dvd plays fine.
