Problem with player or disc?

yesterday I bought Neil Young's Greendale album on dvd-audio, plugged it in, selected play on the menu screen and my yamaha dvd-c750 froze on the menu screen, would not respond to any commands even the power on/off so I unplugged it. I am able to access the extra stuff but not the album songs. If I am quick after pressing play I can skip songs but they wont play either it just freezes after a very short time and I am then forced to unplug it. I tried many times each time ending in unplugging the player. If I select 5.1 mix the player displays "NO DOWNMIX" and then freezes and if i select Stereo mix in the audio menu on the dvd it freezes with the song # and a time of 00:00. Sometimes when I would try to power it off using the remote or the button on the player it will say "standby " like it normally does but then it wont shutoff? This is the only disc I have had with these problems.
I have frozen the player once before but upon unplugging player and then open disc tray and closing it, the player played the disc it froze on fine. Does anyone have any insight to what the problem may be? I will exchange the disc and try another but I'm still perturbed by this.

I think I remember that disc being a problem for a bunch of people.
Like with the Pioneer 563a, you may need a firmware update, to play certain dvd-a's. Not sure though. Go to the player's web site and see if it's a known problem, and see if your's is latest firmware.
Good luck!

Will be nice if it's just a bad disc though. If you exchange it, and it still does the same..........

They let me return Greendale and I got Eric Clapton's Slow Hand album on SACD. Your right about the disc being a problem for lots of people JVC. It appears though that Yamaha isn't going to offer any firmware because the player isn't worth enough or something. I dunno but now I'm scared to buy another Neil Young DVD-A. The Greendale album plays fine in the Panasonic F-87 player I sold my friend. Yamaha has disappointed me:(
